In Budget 2012 – the goverment announced two changes to Mortgage Interest Supplement .
Firstly – the minimum contribution for the purposes of the Mortgage Interest Supplement is being increased by €6 to €30 per week for a single person. The minimum contribution payable by couples will be €35 per week increased by €12 from €23 . (From January 2012)
A bigger changes is that the payment of Mortgage Interest Supplement will be deferred for 12 months while the person engages with the Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process.
