Because the European bank holiday is on a Saturday this year – it should not have any effect on benefit payments . It would if it was on a Friday , like it was in in 2020 –
Child Benefit Payments
Payments to Post Offices should not be affected – Child Benefit payments will be there for collection on Tuesday May 4th as expected.
Childrens Allowance / Child Benefit is also expected in bank accounts by Tuesday May 4th 2021 .
Other Welfare payments
Payment via the Post Office
Any welfare/pension payments due on Monday 3rd May can be collected on Friday April 30th or Saturday 1st May. (Many Post Offices may close at lunch-time on Saturday 1st May).
Payments directly to bank accounts or credit Unions
Welfare or Pension Payments due on Monday 3rd May 2021 should be paid into bank accounts on Friday 30th April.
