Insolvency Applications Can be Made From Sept 9th

The Insolvency Service of Ireland (ISI)   finally began accepting applications from  Monday the 9th of September 2013.  Only authorised Personal Insolvency Practitioners (PIPS) and Approved Intermediaries will be able to make applications .  Individuals need to apply through these third parties .

Just a  handful of  Money Advice and Budgeting Services (MABS) are currently approved as authorised intermediaries and only two dozen PIPs had been approved as at Aug 25th.

These are the 3 types of debt relief available:

Debt Relief Notice  For unsecured debts of up to €20,000 (Apply via  Approved Intermediary)

Debt Settlement Arrangement Unsecured Debt Over €20,000 – No Maximum  (Apply via  Personal Insolvency Practitioner)

Personal Insolvency Arrangement Unsecured and secured  debts . No limit on unsecured. Up to €3m secured (though cap can increase if agreed)  Apply via Personal Insolvency Practitioner)
