There is now a new health insurance company operating in Ireland called Irish Life Health. The new company, owned by Irish Life , follows the completion of the acquisition of Aviva Health and the taking over of full control of GloHealth by Irish Life.
Aviva Health customers will be automatically customers of a new brand called Irish Life Health. For GloHealth customers it’s business as usual – and for now, GloHealth and Irish Life Health will operate as two separate organisations.
Irish Life Health will start with a 21% market share and 425,000 customers. They say they plan to build from this strong position by offering “innovative, great value health insurance plans and exceptional customer service” .
Existing Aviva Health customers will be contacted by Irish Life Health this week and they will see their policies rebranded as Irish Life Health. Later this year GloHealth customers will be invited to join Irish Life Health as their policies come up for renewal.
Any questions: Aviva health customers can call Irish Life Health on 1890 717 717, and GloHealth customers can call on 1890 744 744. You can also email them at heretohelp@irishlife.ie
All 160 employees of Aviva Health and GloHealth have already moved to the Irish Life campus on Abbey Street, Dublin .
Irish Life is owned by Canadian financial giant Great-West Lifeco. It was sold to them in 2013 by the government after the failure and bailing out of PTSB.
