ESB to start offering Gas

ESB – soon to become Electric Ireland – will  be offering natural gas as well as electricity from April 2011. They will be fighting back against the lower prices offered by Airtricity and Bord  Gais that has resulted in 730,000 customers leaving ESB.

The irony is – that if these customers had not switched suppliers – then ESB would not be allowed to undergo de-regulation. Currently ESB prices are set by the Energy Regulator – whilst Bord Gais and Airtricity can undercut them. After full deregulation ESB will be able to charge any price for Electricity.

Electric Ireland (ESB) will be announcing special dual fuel deals soon.
