Start Your Own Business Scheme
In Budget 2014 a new scheme was announced that will grant an exemption from Income Tax for unemployed people who set up their own business.
The exemption will apply on income up to a maximum of €40,000 per annum and will last for a period of two years. To qualify – the person must set up a qualifying, un-incorporated business and have been unemployed for a period of at least 15 months prior to establishing the business.
