The deadlines for filing your 2015 Self Assessment Income Tax returns are getting closer.
If you are doing a paper based Form 11 Tax return – they have to be with Revenue by the 31st October 2016.
Online Form 11 returns via Revenue Online Service have a later deadline of November 10th 2016.
Note: A revised version of the 2015 Form 11 was issued by Revenue on 11 June 2016. Accordingly, work-in-progress at that date will need to be completed on the updated June version of the form (and any validation issues corrected). Revenu have said that any information already entered will be carried forward into the new form.
There is a late filing penalty if tax returns are not made in time. The penalty is 5% of your tax bill if the 2015 tax return is made late but before the 31st Dec 2016. After that – late returns incur a 10% penalty.
