School Transport 2017/18  : Paying for Bus Eireann School Bus  Tickets Online

The closing date for applications for new school bus tickets for the  school year 2017/18 was  Friday 28th April 2017 – but it has been extended to  Friday, 05 May 2017.

Payments for the school year 2017/18  : the closing date for payments will be the end of July 2017.

Only pupils starting school will need to apply –  existing pupils who currently hold tickets  will be contacted about payments in July .
Late payments might be accepted – but do not rely on this option being available to you.

If you select to spread the fares over 2 payments  – the balance (50%)  will be  invoiced in November and must be paid by 1st December 2017

Late payments for tickets for can be submitted after Dec 1st – and where seats are available tickets will be issued. Where late payments are made and there are no seats available then payments will be refunded.

Charges

  • For secondary school pupils the charge is  €350 per pupil or 2 payments of €175. (Max per family of €650) .
  • For primary school buses the fare is  €100 per pupil or 2 payments of €50 (Max per family of €220). There is no charge for Medical Card holders.

To pay online you need to have your Bus Eireann family ID and PIN; both numbers are on the invoice you received from Bus Éireann.You can  pay by  VISA or  MasterCard .
You can also enter the details of Medical Cards, if applicable, for children who are eligible for free transport.

There are two payment options available for  the 2017/18 School Year:-

The full amount due can be paid on or before the  28th July 2017 in which case an Annual Ticket for the full school year will be issued .

OR half of the amount due can be paid by the deadline date of 28th July 2017 and a ticket valid for travel up to 20th December 2017 will be issued. The balance (50%) due will be invoiced in November and must be paid by 1st December 2017  A further ticket, valid for travel up to the end of the school year will then be issued

  1. i am living the the tullovin area its just under 2 miles from the school i understand the rules about the transport would be free if i was over the 2 miles i would like to know why can i not pay for a school ticket i am not asking for free transport i went in to pay for my tickets.and was told that i leave to near to the school my children is left to a child minder 4 miles out side of croom in which the bus picks up children and might i add there is one girl in that child minder she gets picked up i know they bought there ticket too, but that girl leaves right next doo to croom n.s.why cant i buy a ticket bus is half empty its not that we are taking some one seat

  2. up to two to three years ago the bus us to pass by the my gate. now i have to bring my daughter a mile and half to bus stop to get the bus and collect her in the evenings and to make matters worse the bus does not collect them till 4.30 every day even though they get out of school at four and three day a week they get out at 3.20 they have to wait for over a hour to get the bus which is terrible for them in the winter with the rain and cold. 300 euro for a very bad service
