Increases to Jobseekers and Illness Benefit

We have discovered that there will be some increases to some Social Welfare payments as a result of the Covid-19 crisis

Adult dependant increases

The weekly rate for an adult dependant is being temporarily increased from €134.70 to €147 for 12 weeks for the following payments:

• Jobseeker’s Benefit
• Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Illness Benefit

That is an increase of €12.30 a week. So someone with one dependant adult will now get €350 a week. This will bring the payment in line with the €350 Covid Emergency Unemployment Payment.

This temporary increase is due to end on the week of 15 June 2020.
