We  regularly do comparisons of  phone and   broadband package prices in Ireland.

If you are looking for a nationally available home phone (landline) and broadband package with up to 8Mb speed as well as free landline calls in Ireland at any time of day – The cheapest is currently from Vodafone at €45 per month.

A discount is available if you are a Vodafone Mobile Pay Monthly customer – so you can get this bundle for as little as €40 a month.

This Vodafone  at Home package comes with a 40Gb download limit. An added bonus is that you also get 200 anytime minutes free to three selected Vodafone mobiles. (Worth about €40 Euro )

Vodafone also have 8Mb broadband bundled with free off  peak calls to landlines  for just €40 a month  – which is also the cheapest off peak calls and broadband bundle available nationwide. (You can get it for  just €35 if you are a Vodafone mobile Pay Monthly subscriber.)
Vodafone will also  upgrade you for free to 8Mb Enhanced Broadband when it is available in your area

Perlico’s   Freedom Bundle is  still the next cheapest  at €46 a month for  unlimited  local and national landline calls and  3Mb broadband with a 36Gb download limit . It also includes 30 minutes a month of free calls to Irish mobiles.   It isn’t clear what will happen to Perlico now that Vodafone have taken them over .

Other monthly prices for similar 3Mb anytime  bundles include:
Homevision are offering a 3Mb bundle for €50.79 a month
Imagine – €50 plus €29 connection fee

(Imagine are offering a Wimax bundle for €40 Euro a month with a €50 connection fee, 3Mb broadband and unlimited Irish and UK calls – but availability is currently very limited.)

Smart – €52.37  (upto 5MB)

The price of a 3Mb bundle with free anytime calls from Eircom is  €56.75 Even with their offer of the first month free  – the price over 12 months works out at €52.02 a month

Eircom are still offering free phone line connections until August 31st 2009.
If you want a landline connection in Ireland – Eircom are the only company that can do the connection. Prices of connection vary – depending on the circumstances. The most expensive connection charge would be for a  property that has never had a landline connection previously – i.e a new house. The charge for  that is currently €121.93. The lowest charge would be €25.09

Some ne line connections can cost almost €122 Euro – so if you are planning to get a landline connected visit the Eircom Website and get it for free.

Anyone in Ireland can get a Free landline connection from Eircom if you sign up before end of August 2009 .  This free offer applies to all connections – even those where there has not been a telephone line previously (i.e in a new house). The connection fees from Eircom can be as much as €121 Euro – for a new connection .
