As expected – due to EU budgeting rules – the date of the Irish Budget for 2014 is going to be a lot earlier than the ususal first week of December.
Minister Noonan confimed in April that the Government is going to bring Budget Day forward to “on or before the 15th of October” each year from now on. This means that the date for Budget 2014 will be Tuesday, the 15th of October 2013.
By then we might aready know how much the Water Charges for 2014 will be. More welfare cuts and tax increases are expected again in the 2014 Budget – we will keep you updated with all the Budget forecasts – but with the later Budget date and the summer Dail recess there will probably be less leaks this year !
